God's Glory Alone

God is the almighty sovereign and eternal God and creator of all things.  He is perfect is his goodness and righteousness, justice and mercy.  Man, is not.  Man corrupts what it touches and is not good without God.

So who deserves the glory for what is good in the world?

Those who have been drawn by God to himself, justified by God, regenerated by God and sanctified by God share in one thing:  "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (1 Cor 10:31).  If that wasn't clear enough, Peter makes it even more so:
"If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."  - 1 Peter 4:11
So in everything, every aspect of a Christian life, God should get the glory.  No where is man suppose to claim the glory of God but that God is always the one that is the end beneficiary and proclaimed glorious in everything at all times in every way.

Why does God get all the glory?

First of all he made man to glorify Him, not themselves (Rev 1:6).  The church is set apart to glorify Him, not itself (Eph 3:21).  Not just mankind and the church but all things were made to glorify Him (Romans 11:36).  The chief purpose of creation is to bring glory to God.

Secondly, He is the one that is all powerful and supremely wise (Rev 7:12).

Lastly, being the cause and sustainer of all things; He is the reason for all existence past, present, and future, for all eternity; He deserves all the glory (Romans 11:36).

In Conclusion:

God is due and has all glory.  Even though man in its rebellious and sinfulness tries to take God's glory for themselves, in the end, as the perfectly just and righteous judge, he will receive every ounce of glory due to him.

Man does not deserve any ounce of glory.  Man is sinful, imperfect, weak, and corrupt.  When man does good in God's eyes, its because it is God doing it through them; thus he still retains all glory.

God created all things from nothing.  God calls man to salvation.  God justifies man.  God imputes righteousness of his Son to man. God retains man's faith.  God is the source of all grace and all blessings for all eternity.   To God's Glory Alone.
