GO TO: The Soul

1. The mind envisions Beethoven's 5th Symphony and paints Paco's paintings, while the brain fires neurons that move the hands to create the material version of the vision.
2. Electronic charges of the neurons do not reveal Paco's painting.
3. If our brains stopped functioning after what we envision in our mind; did what we envision not exist?  Thus we can conclude that The Mind and the Brain are two different things.
4. If our brains stopped functioning, are we no longer who we are? If you could no longer think, are you still you?  If you lose a limb, eye, tongue, or any part of your body, are you still you?   If you were in comma and brain dead, are you still you?  Therefore we are aware of our existence apart from our functioning brains and body.  
5. As you age and your body grows old, are you still you? Where you, still you, as a teenager just as you are as an adult?  (not referring to wisdom or knowledge but of being and self-aware existence) Thus, the essence of our being is timeless.
6. When you move from point A to point B, are you still you? Thus, the essence of our being is not contention on space and physical locations.
7. The essence of our being is separate from our material bodies and material locations.
8. Our consciousness is the owner of our bodies.
9. The essence of our being and consciousness transcends our material bodies and is immeasurable.  Thus, within our being, we are self aware of our being that is immaterial and immeasurable.
10. This immaterial, immeasurable, and timeless essence of self awareness being is our soul.
